“Music is in my bones, it’s in my soul. I can’t deny it nor contain it.
Music moves me in every way.”

~Jenny Goforth~

It was 1994. The lights were dim and the sound of screaming fans filled the Charlotte Coliseum. The crowd was chanting “encore” and the hairs on my arms were standing straight up. It was as if lightening had struck me and in that moment I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to feel the lights of that big stage. I was a young wide-eyed girl in the very back of the coliseum who had experienced my first country concert. I had “experienced” Reba McEntire.

You may not know me yet but when you get to know me you’ll quickly learn that if there’s something I want to do… I do it. I had been singing and entertaining crowds at church, school, fairs, contests, etc. since the age of three. I had dreamt my entire life of going to Nashville. I was eighteen and I had made up my mind that even though I didn’t know a soul I was going to Nashville. I was going to be a country singer. Boy was I naïve and boy did I have a whole lot to learn!

It has been an incredible journey and I have met some amazing people. I have been fortunate to play some fun shows all over Nashville and surrounding areas, collaborate with songwriters, and touch people with my music the same way I was touched in 1994. I am living the dream, but this musical journey is just getting started. I have never been more certain of who I am. I have never been more fired up and excited to share my music. My 2011 Tour in support of my debut EP, "Running Red Lights," will be announced soon.... stay tuned!!!

Billboard Discoveries Review: "Running Red Lights" - Jenny Goforth doesn’t just possess a striking, Chinese-fortune-cookie-kinda name. The Kings Mountain, N.C.-bred singer/songwriter has a way of turning her barroom country blueprint into an effective froth of blues, rock and soul. That might have something to do with her acumen on harmonica and guitar, alongside a rich, rustic Southern vocal imprint that’s as real as rain. Now based in Nashville (after performing since age 3), Goforth is paying dues as she works on her 2011 debut EP “Running Red Lights” with Grammy winner Dale Oliver, putting in time at the Bluebird Café, Basement, 3rd & Lindsley, Rocketown, Listening Room and Cadillac Ranch. First cuts reveal a firestorm of talent from the fetching blonde beauty: the harlot-having-her-way anthem “Hurricane Jane” and “Running Red Lights”—about throwing caution to the wind for that man—are both an effective showcase for the burgeoning artist—if not career breakers.
